In 2023, the new owners purchase a plot in front of the Mediterranean Sea in Es Pujols, inside the natural park of Ses Salines. A privileged spot which will house the new project where nature and architecture will cohabit in balance.

The singularities of the place, as well as undertaking simultaneously the revision and construction of the project, presents important challenges. Working in a plot made of sand and with a high groundwater level requires precise and efficient structural design. At the same time, it’s necessary to adapt the project’s program according to the new owners and the tourist operator. The logistic conditions of the island make it indispensable to organize carefully the transport of materials and workers, in many cases depending on the meteorology. Not only that, but the construction is limited to the seven months outside of the high season of tourism, making rigorous planning essential.

With the building permit, the construction must begin immediately and the whole technical team has to be renovated. Mipmarí accepts the challenge of revising and reformulating the original project to give it new push, granting optimal execution.

The program of this hotel consists of 34 apartments and various communal spaces to grant the upmost comfort to its guests. It will have communal spaces such as rest areas, a spa and a restaurant with a big exterior terrasse opening to the beach. On the roof will be a spectacular pool with 360º views of Formentera which will become one of the most iconic elements of the project.

Mipmarí bets on mediterranean architecture which balances tradition and innovation. Efficient construction systems are applied, such as concrete structure, a façade made of blocks of aerated concrete and natural rendering. Materials such as ceramic, wood and lime mortar reinforce the idea of wellbeing, sustainability and respect for the territory.

Now, construction is in its structural phase. The first shapes start to appear, changing what soon will become a singular space. There is still a way to go, but the results can begin to be seen.
