El origen de la Casa de la Vila (tal y como se conoce popularmente el ayuntamiento) se remonta al a\u00f1o 1727, cuando el municipio adquiri\u00f3 los terrenos para construir un hospital. Este fue construido finalmente en 1804. En 1833 se utiliz\u00f3 como ayuntamiento y el 1891-93 se llevaron a cabo las obras a cargo del arquitecto Bonaventura Poll\u00e9s Viv\u00f3, que dio lugar a la fisonom\u00eda actual del edificio en sus partes m\u00e1s nobles.<\/p>\n<\/div><\/div>\n\n\n\n

El \u00e1mbito de actuaci\u00f3n abarca tres edificios: el de la Casa de la Vila, el de Can Riba y el edificio anexo<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Los dos primeros edificios fueron desocupados en el verano de 2012. El motivo fue la afectaci\u00f3n de la estructura de madera del edificio principal por una plaga de termitas y carcomas.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

A la derecha de la Casa de la Vila hay un tercer edificio municipal, el edificio anexo, que todav\u00eda est\u00e1 parcialmente en uso en su planta segunda. Este no formaba parte del encargo inicial, pero se incorpor\u00f3 durante la ejecuci\u00f3n del proyecto. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Las obras se dividen en tres fases. La primera fase es la que se encuentra terminada y en funcionamiento. Es la m\u00e1s importante, ya que se han rehabilitado las 2 primeras plantas del edificio principal y ampliado su superficie en planta baja hacia poniente, gracias al derribo de Can Riba.<\/p>\n<\/div><\/div>\n\n\n\n

Cabe destacar el refuerzo de la estructura, la nueva distribuci\u00f3n de espacios, la mejora de la eficiencia energ\u00e9tica y el reciclado de materiales. Se crea un nuevo n\u00facleo vertical en el interior del cuerpo principal que resuelve las diferentes cotas de este y del edificio anexo.<\/p>\n<\/div><\/div>\n\n\n\n

La segunda fase consistir\u00e1 en la reforma del edificio anexo (antiguo Juzgado de Paz) y la tercera planta del cuerpo principal para usos administrativos. La tercera y \u00faltima fase consistir\u00e1 en la urbanizaci\u00f3n de la nueva plaza posterior, dando un nuevo acceso por la cara norte.<\/p>\n<\/div><\/div>\n\n\n\n
